2010 USA Volleyball National Qualifier Information

HOOSIER MIDEAST QUALIFIER INFORMATION
LOCATION:  ST. LOUIS CONVENTION CENTER, ST. LOUIS, MO
TOURNAMENT DATES:  MARCH 19-21, 2010
ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:00 PM ON MARCH 18, 2010
 

TEAMS ATTENDING:  13 BLACK and WHITE; 14 BLACK and WHITE, 16 BLACK and WHITE

Hotels rooms have been confirmed for the players/coaches/chaperones. All teams have been accepted into tournament!

The teams will be staying at:  Hilton St. Louis at the Ball Park, One South Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102, Phone: 1-800-476-0060 , Location: 6 blocks from the Convention Center. 

Rate:  $95.00/night/plus tax.  The new Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark hotel is the destination that connects you with an innovative guest experience. The players will stay together with their team.  One chaperone is needed per team.  The Club will pay 1/2 of your hotel room + tax.  This does not include any additional charges made to the room (room service/movies, etc).  If you are interested in chaperoning or for further details on what the chaperone is responsible for - please contact RENEE.

 

You can review the other hotels offered at https://advancedeventsystems.com.  Click on reserve a room on the left side under "Do It" - click on '10 Mideast Qualifier (12, 13, 14, 16).   Note - all Clubs who are "sitting" on hotel rooms will all begin to return rooms as the tournament date gets closer.  I suggest checking daily for hotel availability (and I will do the same).  You do NOT need to login into the system to review hotel rooms.

 

IF A PLAYER IS ATTENDING THE TOURNAMENT ALONE, SHE MUST TRAVEL WITH ANOTHER PLAYER'S FAMILY OR TRAVEL WITH THE COACHES TO ST LOUIS.  CONTACT RENEE IF THE PLAYER NEEDS TO TRAVEL WITH ANOTHER FAMILY OR WITH THE COACHES!  ANY PLAYER ATTENDING WITHOUT A PARENT SHOULD ALSO LET HER COACH KNOW HER TRAVEL PLANS AS SOON AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE! 

 

As soon as we are able a cost per player will be forwarded for this trip.  Any and all costs for this trip were not included in your dues.

 


TOURNAMENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION

 

Competition Format:  All teams should be prepared to play at 8am EST on Friday, March 19, 2010.  Actual start times will be determined at a later date.  All competition is projected to be completed by 6:00 pm on Sunday March 21, 2010.  If you choose to fly to St. Louis please keep in mind you flight should not be departing prior to 6:00 p.m.

 

Tournament Schedule:  14 American will be an 8:00 AM start.  13 Club and 16 American Divisions will be PM starts.  Actual schedule is TBA.

 

Teams will be required to supply down referees, line judges and scorekeepers.

 

MEQ is an Official DIG PINK Tour Stop!  St. Louis, MO:  March 19-21, 2010  Official “Pink Out Day" - March 20th.
 

St. Patrick’s Day may be over, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end! March 20th and 27th are Dig Pink® events, so organize your “PINK OUT” days now.   Support breast cancer awareness and energize your teams by urging both participants and spectators to wear pink on those days…and lots of it! We’re talking pink uniforms, shirts, pants, hats, bandanas, socks, shoes, hair, nails, tattoos (temporary, of course)!

Admission:   This year MEQ will be charging an entry fee for all non-players and non-coaches. Tickets can be bought Thursday - Sunday at the rate of $4 a day or $10 for a 3-day pass.      MEQ made the decision several months ago to charge admission for all spectators for our 2009 event. Due to the rising costs associated with the Convention Center and labor, we had to make this difficult decision. We wanted to make everyone aware that we will be using admission bracelets that will need to be worn all weekend.  We will start selling bracelets on Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:30pm. Admission will then again be open at 7:00am on Friday. "Lost" bracelets will not be replaced. We will replace damaged bracelets if needed. There will be security guards at the entrance and each hall and you will need to have the bracelet around your wrist to enter.
